I still remember the night the first image of the MPL Philippines Season 17 championship ring appeared in my squad chat. It was March 2026, and instead of debating hero picks or the latest patch, we all stopped to stare at a polished band with a gold-plated finish and eight black stones set into the side. As an ordinary MLBB player and longtime MPL PH viewer, I felt something shift. The league I watched every Friday to Sunday was suddenly creating a physical object that could turn a regional championship into a permanent legacy.

MPL Philippines is the country's biggest and longest-running esports league, and Season 17 officially launched its Regular Season on 20 March. It will run until 17 May, with eight weeks of competition in a double round-robin format. The champion team will receive something beyond prize money and a stage celebration. They will wear MPL Philippines Championship Rings, created through a landmark partnership with international jewellery brand Fairrie. This is the first time the league has worked with an international jewellery brand, and it happened during the same year MLBB celebrates its 10th anniversary globally.

A Ring That Represents the Whole League

The championship ring is not just jewelry. It is made from sterling silver 925 with a gold-plated finish and features eight black spinel gemstones, one for each franchise team in MPL Philippines. That detail hit me hard. Winning the title is never just about one squad; the entire league, all eight organizations, pushes a champion to become great. The ring therefore captures both individual victory and the shared community that keeps Filipino MLBB alive.

Fairrie Brings Global Craftsmanship to Manila

Fairrie is already a respected name in the global esports space. The brand crafted iconic championship rings for the M6 World Championship and has won Gold and Silver at The Drum Awards, as well as Gold at the Marketing Events Awards. When I looked into that history, the collaboration made more sense. This is not a simple merchandise drop. It is a signal that global brands now recognize the commercial strength of MPL Philippines and the passion of its community.

Lee Viloria, PH Esports Head of Business Development and Partnerships at MOONTON Games, explained the meaning behind the rings:

Introducing champion rings to MPL Philippines shows how much the league has evolved over the years. As MLBB marks its 10th anniversary globally, partnering with Fairrie allows us to celebrate our champions in a meaningful way. The ring is not just a reward, but a symbol of the hard work, teamwork, and legacy behind every MPL Philippines title.

Julius See, Chief Executive Officer and President of Fairrie, added that Filipino MLBB players have consistently proven what true champions are made of. He said Fairrie is honored to make a ring for the champions and to capture their spirit, dedication, and greatness as MPL Philippines enters its 17th season.

The Fight Song and the Fan Ring

For fans like me, the celebration is not limited to the professionals. A major music industry collaboration will introduce the official theme song for 'Palag Na ’To.' That cultural crossover between esports and mainstream entertainment is exactly the kind of energy MPL PH brings to gaming, music, and youth culture. I can already imagine the track playing during watch parties and on my TikTok feed during the playoffs.

The Fairrie Tribute Ring Campaign is even more personal. The Philippines is home to the M7 World Champions, Aurora Gaming, and Fairrie will give Filipino fans the chance to win a sterling silver version of the M7 Champion's Tribute Ring. This piece represents the lower half of Fairrie's stackable championship ring design and lets fans own a part of MLBB history. Players qualify by using the Speed Run feature on the Fairrie Games app, turning normal mobile gaming sessions into a shot at something collectible.

Partners Powering Season 17

Season 17 is also supported by a strong group of brand partners:

  • πŸ“± Infinix continues the FANSIKLABAN community tournament through the MPL Playground, where fans can represent their favorite teams in onsite showdowns.

  • πŸŽ“ Smart brings back the Battle Trips program for students and aspiring esports professionals, with seminars on esports broadcasting, journalism, event management, and content creation.

  • ✨ Unilever's Clear enhances the live event atmosphere through on-site activations, interactive fan experiences, product giveaways, and new team-based ambassadors.

All of this makes Season 17 feel bigger than a typical split. The championship rings give the league a physical legacy, the music collaboration gives it a cultural soundtrack, and the tribute ring campaign gives fans like me a way to touch that legacy. While only one team will wear the gold-plated ring in May, I will be playing Speed Run, following every Friday to Sunday series, and hoping the eventual champion truly represents what 'Palag Na ’To' means.
